From November 11 to 16, four men’s and four women’s curling teams will compete to determine who will represent Team USA at the upcoming Olympic Qualification Event. This event will decide the final Olympic quotas for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
The trials will take place at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The nation’s top curling teams will battle over six days, from November 11 through 16, for the chance to advance to the next stage.
As of now, the United States has not secured quotas for either the men’s or women’s curling events at Milano Cortina 2026. The teams fell short of earning enough Olympic Qualification Points during the 2024 and 2025 World Championships for both men and women.
The winning teams in Sioux Falls will proceed to the Olympic Qualification Event in Kelowna, Canada. There, they will compete for the last two available quota spots—one for the men’s event and one for the women’s event—before they can participate in the Olympic Games.
Should the teams fail to obtain these quotas, Team USA will not have representation in that curling event at Milano Cortina 2026.
The United States has always fielded teams in every Olympic curling tournament since curling became an Olympic sport in 1998. The men’s team earned a bronze medal at Turin 2006 and a gold medal at PyeongChang 2018.
Summary: The U.S. Olympic Curling Team Trials in Sioux Falls will determine which teams advance to the Olympic Qualification Event, a crucial step to securing U.S. spots at Milano Cortina 2026.
