Many fans were recently deceived by a Google alert claiming that a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI had been released. The so-called “Final Trailer” turned out to be a fan creation rather than an official Rockstar Games production.
Following the most recent delay of GTA 6’s release date, some gamers hoped Rockstar would provide a fresh teaser to ease the frustration. Similar optimism appeared earlier in May 2025, when the studio announced the first postponement. However, instead of an official reveal, a misleading Google notification circulated, heightening anticipation and confusion.
The alert directed fans to a video titled Grand Theft Auto VI – Final Trailer on the YouTube channel Teaser Universe. According to Game Rant, the channel regularly uploads fan-made and unofficial trailers inspired by popular games, movies, and shows.
The creators combined AI tools with previously released footage to produce convincing visuals and an inventive plot. In this version, Lucia’s father is linked to her criminal ventures in Vice City—a detail that intrigued many viewers before they realized it wasn’t real.
“Most of the top YouTube comments are light-hearted, poking fun at Google for the deceptive alert.”
Despite its unofficial nature, the video amassed over 330,000 views, outperforming many other uploads on the same channel. Fans appeared amused rather than angry, turning the fake trailer into a community in-joke while continuing to watch Rockstar’s channels for authentic news.
Fans mistook a Google alert for an official GTA 6 teaser, but the viral fan-made trailer instead revealed how eager players remain for any confirmed update from Rockstar Games.
