Britain's state-of-the-art polar research vessel, the RRS Sir David Attenborough, is set to embark on a journey to Antarctica to support numerous climate change-related science projects.
The ship, operated by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), will facilitate research on various topics, including underwater tsunamis! tracking glacier melt, and monitoring whale populations.
"The saying goes 'what happens in Antarctica doesn't stay in Antarctica'"
BAS oceanographer Peter Davis expressed disappointment over the US withdrawal from scientific exploration in the region, calling it "a shame".
