ESPN Exits ESPN BET Deal With PENN, Goes Into Business With DraftKings

ESPN Ends PENN Deal, Partners With DraftKings

Just minutes after ending its exclusive U.S. online sports-betting partnership with PENN Entertainment, ESPN announced a new multiyear agreement naming DraftKings as its Official Sportsbook and Odds Provider.

Transition From ESPN BET to DraftKings Partnership

The ESPN BET sportsbook will close on December 1. Afterward, the “ESPN BET” brand will focus on sports-betting content featuring DraftKings integrations throughout ESPN’s platforms. A full rollout of this collaboration is expected in 2026.

“Our betting approach has focused on offering an integrated experience within our products,” said ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro. “Working with DraftKings, a leader in the space, will allow us to build upon that foundation, continue to super-serve passionate sports fans and grow our ESPN direct-to-consumer business. We are excited about this new collaboration with DraftKings.”

Integration Across ESPN Platforms

DraftKings will take a key role across ESPN’s digital ecosystem, including powering the betting tab within the ESPN app. At launch, ESPN users will gain access to DraftKings’ sportsbook, daily fantasy games, and the Pick6 feature. Exclusive promotions will be available for subscribers to the new ESPN Unlimited direct-to-consumer service.

Summary

ESPN transitions from PENN Entertainment to DraftKings, deepening its sports-betting integration and strengthening its direct-to-consumer sports ecosystem under a new long-term partnership rollout planned for 2026.
