A Turning Point USA official wrongly accused a high school's math department of wearing Halloween costumes that mocked the assassination of Charlie Kirk. As a result, these teachers have become targets of online harassment and death threats.
On Friday, teachers at Cienega High School in Arizona from the math department wore matching white T-shirts stained with red, displaying the phrase “Problem Solved” in black letters. The photo was shared on the Vail School District’s official Facebook page.
John Carruth, the district superintendent, stated that no students or parents raised complaints about the costumes during the school day.
The following day, Andrew Kolvet, executive producer for Charlie Kirk’s show, posted the image on X, formerly Twitter, claiming:
“Concerned parents just sent us this image of what's believed to be teachers in [Vail School District] mocking Charlie's murder. They deserve to be famous, and fired.”
Kolvet suggested that the teachers’ T-shirts resembled the “Freedom” shirts Kirk was wearing when he was assassinated at Utah Valley University on September 10.

The school district and local authorities have condemned the harassment and emphasized there was no intent to mock or disrespect the late Charlie Kirk.
This false narrative sparked harmful threats against educators, showing the risks of unverified social media claims targeting schools.
