Join Us to Commemorate Remembrance Sunday
Derby residents are invited to take part in the 2025 Remembrance Sunday commemorations and pay their respects on Sunday, 9 November.
Annual Parade and Service
The city’s traditional Remembrance Sunday parade and service will return this November, uniting youth groups, veteran organisations, and citizens to honour the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces and emergency services.
- The parade will begin at 10:45 a.m., with local veteran and youth groups marching through the city centre to the Market Place, accompanied by the Salvation Army Band.
- At 10:55 a.m., the Lord Bishop of Derby, assisted by the Very Rev'd Dr. Peter Robinson, Dean of Derby, will lead a short service featuring a two-minute silence in remembrance.
- Wreaths will be placed at the War Memorial by civic leaders and representatives from local organisations.
The Order of Service can be downloaded, and the ceremony will also be broadcast on a large screen in the Market Place.
Participation Details
Although troops from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers 148 Divisional Support Company will not parade this year, several local youth and veteran groups have been invited to participate as in previous years.
