Rick Stein Opens New Restaurant at InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach
Travel Weekly got an exclusive look at Rick Stein's new restaurant, located inside the newly opened InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach hotel, featuring 198 guest rooms and a striking Mediterranean beach ambiance.
Restaurant Design and Seating
The restaurant accommodates 224 guests across three unique areas:
- An open courtyard near the redesigned main entrance
- A balcony overlooking Arden Street
- The main dining room with floor-to-ceiling doors leading to the deck
Additional seating options include a 10-seat chef’s table and two banquette sections seating 12 each. Two prominent artworks, depicting an arrow squid and a school of fish, decorate the walls above.
Sass’s Bar and Opening Details
Sass’s Bar, named after Stein’s Australian PR wife Sarah, occupies the space that was formerly a karaoke bar in the old Crowne Plaza.
Stein is expected to arrive on 20 December, following a soft opening serving just 80 guests. The booking site saw over 3,500 visitors immediately after launch.
Operating Hours and Vision
- Open for both lunch and dinner on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Dinner service only from Monday to Thursday
