The West Indies will tour New Zealand for a multi-format cricket series starting on November 22, 2025. The tour includes five T20 internationals (T20Is), three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and three Test matches.
Before the T20I series, both teams announced their squads. Notably, New Zealand’s experienced batsman and former captain, Kane Williamson, has retired from T20 internationals to focus on Test cricket, starting with this series against the West Indies.
"I have decided to step away from T20Is to dedicate myself fully to the Test format." – Kane Williamson
New Zealand’s plans suffered a blow when Tim Seifert was ruled out of the T20 squad due to a broken finger sustained during a domestic match. Mitch Hay was called up as Seifert’s replacement, though Devon Conway remains a strong contender for the wicketkeeping role.
Seifert’s absence is a challenge for New Zealand as they prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup. The 30-year-old has had a stellar year, boasting an impressive strike rate and a batting average above fifty in T20s.
On the West Indies side, Gudakesh Motie was omitted from the T20I squad, while Matthew Forde returns after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained in August.
The series promises competitive cricket across all formats, with teams adjusting line-ups and strategies ahead of upcoming international tournaments.
