Precious Achiuwa has a new NBA team

Precious Achiuwa Joins the Sacramento Kings

Free agent center Precious Achiuwa has reached an agreement with the Sacramento Kings, reports Shams Charania of ESPN. The deal marks the beginning of Achiuwa’s sixth NBA season.

Selected 20th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Draft, Achiuwa was recently waived by the team before the 2025–26 season. During his five NBA seasons, he played in 320 regular-season games for the Heat, Raptors, and Knicks, averaging 7.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in approximately 20 minutes per game.

In the 2024–25 campaign with New York, Achiuwa appeared in 66 games, starting 10 of them, and contributed 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds on average.

“Free agent Precious Achiuwa, a 2020 first-round pick, has agreed to join the Sacramento Kings, who are expected to waive Isaac Jones to clear a roster spot,” reported Shams Charania.

To make room for Achiuwa, Sacramento is anticipated to release center Isaac Jones, who averaged 1.0 points and 0.7 rebounds over limited minutes in his second NBA season. Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews previously noted that several EuroLeague clubs had also shown interest in the 26-year-old forward.
