On Monday, Craig Melvin revealed an unexpected truth while co-hosting the fourth hour of the Today show with Jenna Bush Hager. This was Craig's first time at the Jenna & Friends desk, a segment that has featured many celebrity guest hosts since Hoda Kotb left in January to focus on her daughters.
Despite working on Today for years, Craig confessed to Jenna that he had never watched the Jenna & Friends segment before. Sitting beside Jenna, he said, This is a nice set. You know, I've never seen the show.
Jenna responded playfully, That is so rude!
Craig explained that his schedule prevented him from watching because he was usually finishing the third hour when Jenna & Friends began.
Did you just hear him say he's never watched the show?
No, because I'm usually in transit, but this is nice.
Here's the thing about it. It's a full hour.
I know, I could probably watch some of it.
On the same day, Craig hosted the first two hours of Today with Savannah Guthrie, joined the third hour with Sheinelle Jones, Al Roker, and Dylan Dreyer, before moving to the fourth hour with Jenna. He also praised Jenna for her hosting work on Jenna & Friends, which has had rotating guest hosts since Hoda's departure.
