Australian batsman Tim David insists his massive six in Hobart traveled even farther than the official record, reflecting his ambition to “face more balls” and become a key player at next year’s T20 World Cup.
David smashed 74 runs off 38 balls against India, showcasing his power with five sixes at Bellerive Oval. One six measured an immense 129 meters, marking the longest six ever recorded in T20 internationals and the biggest reported by Fox Cricket.
“It’s good fun hitting balls on the roof. I haven’t seen any balls up there and I haven’t hit any up there,” David said, referring to the six that hit the stadium sign atop the grandstand roof.
“I was hoping it would land on the beach. It hit the top rung of that little advertising sign.”
“I’m always dubious about the measurements.”
David said the match had limited influence on World Cup tactics since pitches in India vary greatly depending on the opposition. Despite this, he welcomes Australia's bold batting approach, which includes his promotion up the order to maximize impact.
He is excited about moving up the batting lineup as part of Australia’s plan to play aggressively and strive for World Cup success.
Tim David combines impressive raw power with strategic intent to become a pivotal figure in Australia’s T20 World Cup campaign.
