Bo Bichette remains determined to continue his career with the Toronto Blue Jays despite their Game 7 loss in the World Series. After the Blue Jays fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night, Bichette addressed his upcoming free agency. True to his consistent stance, Bichette expressed loyalty to the team that drafted him in 2016.
“I’ve said I want to be here from the beginning,”
he stated following the defeat.
Bichette nearly became a Toronto hero after hitting a three-run home run off Shohei Ohtani in the third inning. However, a late surge by the Dodgers dashed both the 27-year-old’s and the team's championship hopes. Despite being a two-time All-Star, Bichette missed the Blue Jays’ postseason roster for the ALDS and ALCS while recovering from a knee injury sustained in early September.
He returned for the World Series but was moved to second base instead of his regular shortstop position to accommodate his recovery. Over the series, Bichette recorded 8 hits in 23 at-bats, contributed six RBIs, and maintained a .922 OPS against the Dodgers.
“I’ll remember this group forever. I think this group taught me what a team is. I think it’s probably the most valuable lesson in my career, so they mean a ton to me.”
After a challenging 2024 marked by injury struggles and inconsistent performance, Bichette rebounded with a strong 2025 season. Over 139 games, he posted a batting line of .311/.357/.483, hitting 18 home runs, driving in 94 runs, and recording 181 hits.
Bo Bichette’s steadfast loyalty to the Blue Jays and impressive comeback in 2025 highlight his value and commitment to the team despite recent setbacks.
