Australian actress Dakota Fanning highlights notable differences between her new whodunit All Her Fault and last year’s popular series The Perfect Couple. After collaborating with Nicole Kidman, Fanning shares insights about filming her latest Hollywood project Down Under and reflects on growing up in the spotlight.
Talking about the much-emulated flash mob scene from the 2024 Netflix series starring Nicole Kidman, Fanning laughs, saying, “There’s no dance.” She also notes the tone shift between the two shows:
“There were also more laughs to The Perfect Couple. I think that this [All Her Fault] leans more into the thriller aspect of it all. But certainly, what we’ve all learned is viewers really love mystery and trying to figure out who is a part of it … That really unites an audience.”
In All Her Fault, Fanning stars alongside Sarah Snook, whose performance in Succession she greatly admires. She praises Snook's talent and personality:
“Sarah, in real life, is just amazing. She’s such a talented actor and really a down to earth, grounded, fun person to be around.”
Fanning explains their limited time together off set due to Snook’s busy schedule, emphasizing the importance for Snook to take time for herself and her family.
Based on Andrea Mara’s novel, the eight-part series follows Marissa Irvine (played by Snook), a distraught mother searching for her missing child after a playdate.
Author’s summary: Dakota Fanning reflects on the shift toward thriller elements in her new series while praising co-star Sarah Snook’s talent and grounded nature.
