Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) is celebrating maritime trade with a specially designed float in this year’s National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide. The event starts at 9:30 AM on Saturday, 8 November, marked by the golden whistle signaling its beginning.
Since 1933, the Christmas Pageant has been the traditional kickoff for the Christmas season in South Australia, drawing thousands of spectators of all ages along the city streets.
FPH expressed excitement on social media about unveiling their float for the first time in five years. The float highlights maritime trade’s crucial role in delivering festive joy and presents to South Australians annually.
“Our float is particularly special—it's the first custom-built float to join the pageant in five years, proudly featuring a replica of one of our Pilot boats, alongside a crew of straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves ticking off Christmas gifts.”
The design includes a blue fabric ruffle that creates the effect of the Pilot Boat gliding through water, enhancing the festive and maritime theme.
This week, FPH officially launched the float at Outer Harbor, where some of their “FPH elves” participated in the celebration, adding to the holiday cheer.
FPH stated, “The blue fabric ruffle below adds the perfect finishing touch, creating the illusion of the Pilot Boat gliding through water.”
The float showcases the company’s commitment to spotlighting the importance of maritime trade during the festive season in South Australia.
