Road closures in the city for Pageant day tomorrow
The annual Christmas Pageant will usher in the festive spirit tomorrow morning, marking one of the city’s most beloved traditions. However, motorists are advised to plan ahead due to multiple road closures across the CBD.
Several major streets will close from early morning until the afternoon, as around 300,000 spectators are expected to fill the city centre for the celebration. The complete list of closures is available on the official Christmas Pageant website.
Pageant Route
This year’s procession will follow its familiar course:
- Starting at South Terrace
- Turning onto King William Street
- Passing along the western side of Tarntanyangga
- Continuing through Reconciliation Plaza, Wakefield Street, and Pulteney Street
- Heading along North Terrace
- Finishing at Beehive Corner
Authorities’ Advice
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said Charles Mountain, RAA Senior Manager of Safety and Infrastructure.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
