Dan Aykroyd, known for his iconic roles in Ghostbusters and Coneheads, embraces the strange and supernatural. This curiosity makes him the ideal host for The UnBelievable, now returning for its third season on the History Channel starting November 7.
The show explores some of the most bizarre yet true stories in history using reenactments, archival clips, and expert commentary. The season premiere, titled “Strange Sightings,” features unsettling tales such as sinister clowns troubling neighborhoods and the notorious “America’s Most Haunted Highway.”
Aykroyd shared his reaction to the premiere that aired late at night, especially impressed by the I-4 highway story, which hit close to home as he lives in Central Florida.
“That was one of my favorites. I had heard about the I-4 highway story before the researchers proposed it for the show. I thought, ‘wow, this is a real thing.’ People I had spoken to many years ago told me this story.”
Regarding the clown sightings, he remains cautious.
“I still don’t know, man. The fact there was this rumor in suburban America, and these clowns were appearing everywhere. Very haunting, very eerie, very creepy.”
In addition to hosting the show, Aykroyd opened up about his own family’s involvement with spiritualism, reflecting on his long-standing fascination with paranormal phenomena.
