This win marked the Bruins’ fifth consecutive victory, making it their best stretch since January. Head coach Marco Sturm expressed his satisfaction with the team’s effort and structure.
“These guys are giving me everything they got,” said Bruins coach Marco Sturm. “Everybody knows me now and knows what I want out of them. I’m very happy with how we approach every game structure-wise now.”
The Bruins had to battle back after an early deficit. Ottawa’s Michael Amadio scored on a 2-on-1 break, putting the Senators ahead just 5:42 into the first period. It was the seventh time this season that Boston allowed the opening goal within the first three shots of the game.
Four of those early goals occurred with Joonas Korpisalo in net for Boston, while the remaining three happened with Jeremy Swayman starting.
The Bruins’ resilience and strong structure under Marco Sturm led to a fifth straight win, cementing their best run in over a year despite lingering early defensive issues.
