Megyn Kelly delivered a harsh critique of the Republican Party following its significant losses on Election Day. She accused conservatives of failing to succeed without the direction of Donald Trump.
The election saw major Democratic victories in states and cities including California, New Jersey, Virginia, and New York City. Kelly discussed these outcomes on The Megyn Kelly Show on Wednesday afternoon.
“The Republican party needs to get its s–t together ASAP.”
She expressed frustration over the party's focus, referencing how Republicans spent time on minor distractions instead of addressing critical issues.
“I’m really glad we spent the past couple of weeks, as Sean Davis of the Federalist put it, policing some young person’s group chat. What a podcast host said and what the head of a think tank over at Heritage had to say. I’m really glad that the Republicans devoted so much time to that. That was a great move.”
Kelly criticized Republicans for seemingly embracing a losing mentality, enjoying being embattled and complaining rather than winning.
“The Republicans like to lose. They enjoy when they are embattled and in a losing position and complaining. They do it really well.”
She emphasized that it is only Trump who shows strength, while the Republican Party itself struggles with leadership and direction.
“Republicans don’t know how to win. They don’t know who to run. They don’t know what to do when daddy’s not there to fly them across the finish line. And that’s just been so obvious.”
Author's summary: Megyn Kelly sharply criticizes the Republican Party's leadership and strategy, arguing they fail to win and lack direction without Donald Trump's influence.
