Rapper Young Bleed, real name Glenn Clifton Jr., passed away at the age of 51 in Las Vegas after suffering a brain aneurysm. The incident occurred on November 1, following his performance at ComplexCon’s Cash Money Verzuz No Limit event and an afterparty where he collapsed.
“I knew with him being a legend worldwide, a lot of people were concerned for him, so I’m here to confirm as his oldest child, that he has gained his wings,” said his eldest son, Ty’Gee Ramon Clifton.
Clifton confirmed his father had no major health issues aside from high blood pressure, which he managed with medication. He described his father’s passing as “more of a natural thing.”
“After his huge celebration at the Verzuz, he went to an afterparty, and that’s where everything kinda spiked. … My dad didn’t have no real health issues,” Clifton explained.
Tameka “Madamm Meek” Long, who shares a 10-year-old son with the late musician, told TMZ that Young Bleed was hospitalized a few days after his performance. Clifton added that the artist “did pass from the aneurysm, the bleed to the brain,” and said he plans to learn more about aneurysms for better understanding.
Young Bleed, known for his music career rooted in Baton Rouge, was remembered by fans and family for his lasting contributions to hip-hop and for being a beloved father and performer.
