West Yorkshire Police confirmed that Mark Fellows, 45, Lee Newell, 56, and David Taylor, 63, have been charged with the murder of Kyle Bevan, 33, at HMP Wakefield.
On November 7, the three prisoners appeared separately before Leeds Magistrates' Court via video link from Havertop Police Station. They appeared over the murder of Bevan, who was killed on November 5 at HMP Wakefield.
Officers responded to the prison at approximately 8:25 AM after receiving reports that an inmate had been found dead in his cell. The Prison Service confirmed the deceased was Bevan, who was serving a life sentence.
Kyle Bevan was imprisoned for the brutal murder of his partner's two-year-old daughter, Lola James, in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in 2020.
All three men wore grey prison-issued sweatpants and tops, accompanied by police officers during their brief one-minute hearings.
District Judge Charlotte Holland said: "You are charged with one allegation of murder. That is so serious I therefore have to send you to Leeds Crown Court."
The judge added that the next hearing, scheduled for November 10, will be a plea and trial preparation hearing. Bail was not considered, and the men were remanded into custody.
The next court hearing for the accused in the high-profile murder of Kyle Bevan will take place on November 10 at Leeds Crown Court.
