After a longer wait than expected, kicker Harrison Mevis has returned to the NFL by signing with the Los Angeles Rams practice squad, adding depth to their specialist group.

Known as “The Thiccer Kicker,” Mevis impressed during the USFL season with the Birmingham Stallions. He made 20 out of 21 field goal attempts, helping the Stallions achieve a 7-3 record and win the USFL Conference in the regular season.
Mevis was on fire this year – including a strong 5-6 performance from 50+ yards out. His only miss was from 63 yards. Additionally, Mevis averaged 64.9 yards on kickoff attempts. 🙌

Following the UFL season, Mevis signed with the New York Jets and competed against veteran kicker Nick Folk for the starting position. Though he was narrowly edged out, he stayed on the Jets' practice squad briefly before being released early in the season.
