Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou has accused Marvel actor Jeremy Renner of domestic violence, ongoing harassment, and threatening to involve ICE to have her deported. Zhou, 37, detailed the allegations in multiple Instagram posts and an interview with The Daily Mail.
The two reportedly began dating in July after Renner sent Zhou unsolicited explicit photos and showed interest in her filmmaking. Renner contributed to two of her projects: an animated film and a documentary titled Chronicles of Disney.
Zhou said she visited Renner’s home in Reno to work on the documentary when he became violent.
“I was discussing about the doc logistics, then he drank a bottle of wine alone and got angry and angry yelling for two hours,” Zhou explained. “I had to location share to my team, my parents and Disney colleagues in case something happens to me they know where I am. I had to lock myself in a room to be safe praying he would not come into the room at night as he was really angry. I did not say a word, I was so scared for my life.”
She also shared text messages with The Daily Mail that appear to support her account. In the messages, allegedly sent from a locked bathroom, she described Renner as “violent” and expressed fear for her safety.
The allegations describe a troubling pattern of abusive behavior and threats involving Jeremy Renner, highlighting serious concerns about Zhou’s safety during their relationship.
Author’s note: These claims paint a disturbing picture of alleged abuse and coercion, emphasizing the need for a thorough and impartial investigation.
