The Town of Eastend has been named a provincial winner of the Communities in Bloom award for the fourth time. The town competed in the category for populations between 501 and 1,000.
"We got very high marks on each one of the categories," said Rosa Vázquez, Tourism and Economic Development Officer for Eastend. "It all comes down to the town working together with the Eastend Communities in Bloom Committee, the Garden Club, the town crew, and all our community groups and our amazing volunteers and residents. It is the work of the whole community that makes Eastend such a great place to live, to do business, and to visit."
Communities in Bloom participants are evaluated on the following areas:
Eastend earned a five-bloom rating along with a special mention for its exceptionally supportive volunteer system. Vázquez emphasized that the award reflects much more than gardening efforts.
