Yesterday evening, Merseyside Police cordoned off part of Upper Parliament Street in Liverpool as armed officers detained a man suspected of firearm possession.
"We were contacted just after 8:45 pm on Wednesday, 5 November, following reports that a man had threatened occupants of a property on Upper Parliament Street. Officers responded promptly, arresting a man on suspicion of possessing a firearm, who was then taken into custody. No weapon has been found so far, and investigations are ongoing. The road was temporarily closed but has since reopened."
Upper Parliament Street has reopened. The suspect remains in custody, and police continue their inquiries.
