Flights at Sweden’s Göteborg Landvetter Airport have resumed after drone activity forced a temporary shutdown on the evening of November 6, 2025, as confirmed by the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority.
According to the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration spokesman Björn Stavås, drones were first sighted near the airport before 18:00 local time. It remained unclear whether there was a single drone or several involved.
The airport halted operations for roughly three and a half hours and reopened its airspace around 21:30 local time. During the closure, several flights were affected, and normal operations resumed later the same evening.
Flight tracking data from FlightAware detailed these disruptions. Some flights were diverted, and several departures were postponed or canceled entirely.
“Travelers are asked to stay in touch with their airline or tour operator,”
said a statement from Swedavia, which operates Göteborg Landvetter Airport along with nine other Swedish airports.
The Swedish Armed Forces and police were informed of the incident and took part in reviewing the situation.
Details reported by the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet (SvD).
