Students and government employees across Telangana marked the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram with collective singing events on Friday, November 7, 2025. The celebrations took place in schools, collectorates, and other government offices throughout the state.
At Zilla Parishad High School, Pothireddypally, Sangareddy, students, teachers, and staff joined the event titled Samuhika Vande Mataram Gitalapana. Similar gatherings were organized by government employees and school communities in different districts.
“Composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, ‘Vande Mataram’ was first published in the literary journal Bangadarshan on 7 November 1875,” according to a release from the Press Information Bureau.
District Collectors delivered speeches highlighting the historical importance of the national song in India’s freedom movement and cultural identity.
