Heating Disruption on West Campus

Facilities Maintenance & Compliance are responding to a significant steam leak affecting heating across the west campus of The University of Manchester. The steam system has been safely isolated as the team assesses the situation.

Heating is currently unavailable in buildings along the west side of Oxford Road, from AMBS to Ellen Wilkinson inclusive. The source of the leak has been identified and isolated locally, allowing the heating system to be reinstated. Heat should soon be reaching all buildings except the Arthur Lewis building, which remains isolated.

The teams are working to resolve the issue as fast as possible. Building users will receive separate updates on further developments.

"Facilities, Maintenance, and Compliance are looking to rectify this as quickly as possible, and building users will be updated separately on further developments."

At present, heating is unlikely to be fully restored today, but efforts are ongoing to fix the problem promptly. Updates will continue as more information becomes available.
