The Kitchener Line will be closed this weekend due to planned track construction as part of GO Transit's future system expansion. Regular service is scheduled to resume on Monday, November 10.
During the shutdown, GO buses will replace trains. However, some stations will not have any GO Transit service. Passengers traveling this weekend should plan their trips carefully and allow extra time.
On weekends, the Kitchener Line typically operates between Mount Pleasant Station in Brampton and Union Station in Toronto. This weekend, the line will have no train service at all.
According to a GO Transit spokesperson:
“The line will be closed for planned track construction to support future expansion.”
The last northbound train on Friday at 11:34 p.m. from Union Station to Mount Pleasant GO will not operate. After that, a full weekend suspension will begin.
Travellers are advised to check schedules before departing and to consider local transit alternatives for affected routes.
The Kitchener GO Line will close this weekend for track work, with buses replacing trains and several Toronto-area stations lacking GO Transit service.
