FLAIR on the Coast will hold its next meeting this Saturday, November 9th, at noon in the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. The event will feature a talented and entertaining duo, Ted and Joan. Joan writes humorous lyrics that resonate with many and plays various percussion instruments, while Ted accompanies her on guitar. Their performance is sure to lift spirits, especially for those feeling down.
FLAIR also offers wigs and head coverings to help individuals experiencing hair loss during cancer treatment. This Cancer Support Group welcomes men and women undergoing treatment, survivors, and caregivers from the Pender Harbour/Egmont area. The Loon Foundation’s BioBlitz runs from November 8 to 14. Starting at 10 a.m. tomorrow, participants can collect biodiversity data from their own backyards using the iNaturalist app. The main hub with information and displays is located at the EarthFair Store and Tranquility Gardens. Outdoor ceremonies will be hosted by Royal Canadian Legion No. 11, followed by a service at 11 a.m. Community members are encouraged to support veterans by purchasing poppies, available at local businesses including IGA and Marina Pharmacy.
