The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) is launching an ad campaign aimed at Quebec doctors seeking Ontario licenses after Quebec introduced Bill 2. This law changed physician compensation, set collective targets, and implemented strict surveillance measures.
The Collège des médecins du Québec released an open letter stating the new legislation has demoralized many doctors. Over 100 physicians have already obtained Ontario licenses, and about 200 more have begun the process to relocate.
BCHS, which manages Brantford General Hospital and Willett Urgent Care Centre, is capitalizing on this interest with targeted Meta and Google ads.
“Join a community — not just a workplace. At Brant Community Healthcare System, you’ll practice medicine in a place where when your shift ends, adventure begins. From peaceful trails to riverside views, Brantford offers a vibrant and diverse community.”
Lebené Numekevor, BCHS Director of Medical Affairs, emphasized that this campaign reaches doctors who may be unaware of Brantford and Brant County. She noted that while doctors will need new licenses for Ontario, their training and experience remain valid.
This effort highlights Brant's openness to welcoming Quebec physicians affected by legislative changes, promoting a supportive community and new opportunities for medical professionals.
Author’s summary: Brant’s healthcare system attracts Quebec doctors frustrated by Bill 2 through strategic campaigns, offering a welcoming community and transferable medical expertise.
