Daniel Owen, 46, an American private school director, and his 15-year-old son, Cooper Owen, died after being attacked by a swarm of Asian giant hornets while ziplining at an eco-adventure resort near Luang Prabang, Laos.
The Owens were descending from a tree with a guide at Green Jungle Park when hundreds of the hornets, commonly known as "murder hornets," suddenly attacked them on October 15.
A U.S. Department of State spokesperson stated: "Out of respect for the privacy of the family and loved ones during this difficult time, we have no further comment."
