Lucy Liu takes on one of the most emotional and challenging roles of her career in “Rosemead,” the debut feature from cinematographer-turned-director Eric Lin. The film opens in New York on December 5 and in Los Angeles on December 12, 2025.
Inspired by a haunting true story, “Rosemead” centers on an ailing mother who fights to protect her troubled teenage son, portrayed by Lawrence Shou. As the boy’s behavior grows darker and community pressures intensify, the boundaries between love and survival begin to blur.
“Rosemead” was officially selected for the Tribeca Film Festival and received awards at both the Bentonville and Locarno Film Festivals.
“Rosemead” follows an ailing woman who takes increasingly desperate measures to protect her troubled teenage son.
The film will have a theatrical release beginning in December 2025, expanding from New York and Los Angeles to additional cities in the following weeks.
