Clemson women’s basketball (1-0) travels to Macon for its first road game of the season against Mercer (1-0). The Tigers aim to begin the season 2-0 for the fourth straight year and for the second consecutive season under Coach Shawn Poppie. Mercer comes off a 48–39 win over UNC Asheville and looks to build momentum as well.
Clemson leads the all-time series with Mercer 8–2, dating back to the 1977–78 season. In their most recent meeting, the Tigers secured a 90–66 victory. Coach Shawn Poppie remains undefeated against Mercer with a 5–0 record.
Junior guard-forward Rusne Augustinaite led all scorers with 19 points, including four 3-pointers, during Clemson’s 76–38 season-opening win over USC Upstate. Senior guards Mia Moore and Taylor Johnson-Matthews added 17 and 12 points respectively, helping the Tigers dominate in their first game.
