Ken Jennings, the host of the popular game show Jeopardy!, addressed a recent clue that caused confusion and backlash among fans. The clue in question read: “A.I. generated the TikTok Image of this pig/human eventually killed by Tim Cheese.”
All three contestants looked puzzled, unable to answer. Before revealing the correct response, “Who is John Pork?”, Jennings admitted,
“I didn’t understand any of that.”
The backlash was not about the question’s difficulty but the way the online meme was described. Fans protested on the show’s Instagram:
Jennings addressed the controversy in a TikTok video posted on Saturday, November 2. He said:
“When we played a clue recently on ‘Jeopardy!’ about John Pork, I remarked that I didn’t understand a word of it. Well, I’ve had the chance to learn quite a bit since that clue aired about the late Mr. Pork, including the fact that some viewers took exception with our description of him as AI-generated. Now, even though AI is used heavily in many of his TikToks, it’s possible that wasn’t the best wording to refer to his original appearances.”
Ken Jennings apologized for the confusing wording in a Jeopardy! clue about John Pork, acknowledging fans’ concerns that calling the meme AI-generated was inaccurate.
