Your Older Peloton Bike+ Seat Has Been Recalled

Peloton has announced a voluntary recall of seat posts from older Bike+ models produced between December 2019 and July 2022 and sold in the United States. The company will replace the affected seats free of charge.

Which Models Are Affected

If your Bike+ model shows a PL02 label inside or behind the front fork or flywheel, it is part of this recall. The recently released Cross Training Bike+ is not included.

Reason for the Recall

The seat post "can break during use, posing a potential fall and injury risk to consumers," according to Peloton.

This situation appears less severe than the previous recall of classic Bike seats two years ago, when 11 riders were injured due to faulty posts.

Extent of the Issue

Peloton has received three reports of seats breaking in the United States out of roughly 833,000 units affected. No similar incidents have been reported among nearly 45,000 units sold in Canada.
