Peloton has issued an urgent recall notice for its Original Series Bike+ model, warning customers to stop using it immediately due to potential fall and injury hazards. The problem concerns seat posts that may break during use.
“As part of Peloton’s commitment to product safety and our loyal Members, we are voluntarily recalling certain seat posts on Peloton Original Series Bike+ models manufactured from December 2019 through July 2022, in cooperation with the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission).”
Peloton stated that the recall follows reports of seat posts breaking during use, posing a risk of injury. The company has received three such reports among the affected bikes sold in the U.S. There have been no reports of this issue occurring in Canada.
Customers are advised to stop using their bikes immediately and contact Peloton for a free replacement seat post. The serial number can be found either inside or behind the front fork, or behind the flywheel.
Peloton recalls nearly 900,000 bikes worldwide following reports of seat post failures, urging users to halt use and request a complimentary replacement for safety reasons.
