Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors with 24 points in a 114-109 defeat to the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Despite his scoring effort, the team struggled throughout the game, especially in the third quarter.
Curry pointed out issues such as poor organization, bad possessions, and low energy that made the game harder for the Warriors. He said,
“There are parts of the game where we just…made it too hard on all of us with not getting organized, bad possessions, a little lack of energy. And you give a team like that life.”
Although the Warriors entered the fourth quarter leading 88-82, they could not maintain the advantage. Quenton Jackson scored 12 of his 25 points in the final period, helping the Pacers come back.
Curry emphasized the need for better decision-making in crucial moments. He reflected,
“I got to be better just being more decisive, more aggressive, even not to shoot, but to play make and get everybody organized.”
As a veteran player, Curry also stressed professionalism and readiness, adding,
“Just be professional, understand what you need to do to get your body, your mind ready to bring your best self…you have to demonstrate that, execute it.”
On the defensive side, turnovers played a significant role in swinging momentum against the Warriors. Curry noted,
“There were a couple possessions…turnovers in the third quarter…you give them a fast break layup. It changes the momentum.”
Steph Curry highlighted the Warriors' need for improved focus, decision-making, and preparation to secure wins in difficult road games.
