The 18-year-old Will Dobson stands out as one of the most promising young talents in the A-League. The Newcastle Jets have secured him until the end of the 2027-28 season, showing their confidence in his potential.
Contract and Career Progression
Dobson, a local junior from Belmont Football Club, only debuted in the A-League just over a year ago. Despite his youth, he impressed Jets coach Mark Milligan enough to earn a contract upgrade and extension.
Initially signed on a two-year scholarship at the start of last season, Dobson’s deal was converted into a full A-League contract with two more years added.

The Jets academy graduate made his debut as a substitute in the opening round against Melbourne City last season. He made 12 appearances in total, with one start, during the 2024-25 campaign.
Dobson played a vital role in the Jets' Australia Cup-winning run, contributing both a goal and an assist in the quarter-final versus Macarthur FC.
