Earlier, Egypt's presidency stated that Netanyahu would attend the summit, following a phone call between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump, who is co-chairing the summit, discussed the ongoing ceasefire efforts in Gaza with the two leaders.

The announcement came shortly after the phone call, which was reportedly attended by Netanyahu while in Israel.
