The UNLV football team aims to end a two-game losing streak when it faces Colorado State on Saturday in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Rebels (6-2 overall, 2-2 Mountain West) are coming off a close 40-35 loss to New Mexico, where their defense allowed 532 yards, including 401 passing yards. Another loss would hinder their chances of qualifying for the Mountain West championship game for the third year in a row.
This marks UNLV’s first visit to Colorado State since 2019. A scheduled game at Canvas Stadium in 2020 was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests.
Colorado State (2-6, 1-3) has lost its last two games and recently fired coach Jay Norvell during his fourth season. In the first game under interim coach Tyson Summers on October 25, the Rams were shut out 28-0 by rival Wyoming.
The Rams hold a seven-game home winning streak against UNLV.
"The Rebels can’t afford another loss if they hope to play in the Mountain West championship game for the third consecutive year."
