Rookie Beckett Sennecke had his first two-goal game, while Leo Carlsson scored two power-play goals in a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. Despite the recent government shutdown ending, the Jets remained grounded at Honda Center as the Ducks soared, continuing their hot streak in the NHL.
By defeating the 2025 Pacific Division champions in Vegas and last season’s Presidents’ Trophy winners on consecutive nights, the Ducks have now won seven straight games. This marks their longest winning streak since the 2021-22 season when they posted eight consecutive victories, and they have triumphed in nine of their last ten games.
“I heard about the losing days of the past couple years from the older guys, and they’re pretty pumped right now,” said Sennecke.
The Ducks' recent success includes wins over the reigning two-time Stanley Cup champions twice, as well as a Western Conference finalist and another 2025 playoff team. Their next challenge will be a road game in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche, a battle between the NHL’s two best teams based on points percentage.
“It’ll be a good challenge for us. We knew that our schedule had a bunch of tough teams in a row here, and I think we’re proving why we’re an established team,” added Sennecke.
Leo Carlsson is currently tied for second place league-wide in points with Chicago’s Connor Bedard, the only player drafted ahead of him in 2023, trailing only Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon.
Summary: The Anaheim Ducks have surged to their best streak in years, solidifying their status as a powerful NHL team with strong performances from newcomers Beckett Sennecke and Leo Carlsson.
