Sally Kirkland, Oscar Nominee for "Anna," Enters Hospice Care

Veteran actress Sally Kirkland, recognized for her Oscar-nominated role in the 1987 film "Anna," has been hospitalized and is now under hospice care, according to TMZ. The 84-year-old star was reportedly diagnosed with dementia about a year ago and is currently battling life-threatening infections.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support her medical needs. The campaign notes that Kirkland suffered a fall in the shower while unattended, resulting in injuries to her ribs, foot, and multiple cuts and bruises.

"She had a fall in the shower, when she was left unattended; injuring her ribs, foot, along with cuts and bruises."

With a career spanning over six decades, Kirkland earned a Golden Globe for her performance in "Anna." She was also part of Andy Warhol’s Factory community and appeared in numerous notable films including "The Way We Were" (1973), "Cinderella Liberty" (1973), "The Sting" (1973), "A Star Is Born" (1976), "Private Benjamin" (1980), "JFK" (1991), "The Player" (1992), "Bruce Almighty" (2003), "Adam & Steve" (2005), and "80 for Brady" (2023).

A new documentary about her life, titled "Sallywood," premiered on Amazon Prime on Monday.
