According to Kirkland's representative, Michael Greene, the actress is at a Palm Springs hospital hospice after being diagnosed with dementia within the past year. She endured multiple serious injuries and infections during this period.
"This past year Sally fractured her four bones in her neck, right wrist, and her left hip," a GoFundMe page for Kirkland’s medical costs explains.
"While recovering she developed two separate life-threatening infections."
The combination of these injuries and infections required extensive hospitalizations and rehabilitation beyond what Kirkland's insurance would cover.
