During the solemn National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London, Queen Camilla and the Princess of Wales shared a warm exchange, smiling at one another amid the ceremony’s formality.
The annual service, which honors the nation's fallen soldiers, is one of the most important events in the royal calendar. Queen Camilla, who missed last year’s ceremony due to a chest infection, returned in 2025 to attend the commemoration alongside senior members of the royal family.
For the occasion, the Queen wore a black hat and dress accented by pearl earrings, with the traditional red poppies pinned to her attire — a symbol of remembrance throughout November for those who served in past conflicts.
"During November, members of the royal family wear crimson poppy pins to honor and remember the sacrifices of the armed forces and civilians in past conflicts."
Camilla stood on the balcony above the Cenotaph beside the Princess of Wales. From nearby balconies, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, watched the proceedings. King Charles III, dressed in military uniform as Commander in Chief of the armed forces, laid a wreath on behalf of the nation, accompanied by Prince Edward and Prince William.
Beyond her participation, Queen Camilla also serves as the Royal Patron of the Poppy Factory, which organizes the annual Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey’s North Green.
Queen Camilla and Princess Kate shared a heartfelt moment during the 2025 Remembrance Sunday ceremony, marking the Queen’s return to one of Britain’s most symbolic royal events.
