Evolution of Combat Robots
In the last twenty years, there has been tremendous evolution of small unmanned ground-based robots.
The first concept was RoBattle, a seven-ton wheeled modular drone transport vehicle, capable of carrying three tons of cargo, a great Israeli concept that never entered service.
However, PackBot 510 entered service in 2002, marking the beginning of a new era in combat robotics.
No matter how good the concept, it is the implementation that matters.
