Introducing the U-Hawk Prototype

Sikorsky has unveiled a new Black Hawk prototype, transforming the 50-year-old design into an autonomous aircraft.

The U-Hawk, as it's called, retains the familiar size, shape, rotors, and green paint job of the Army's workhorse troop carrier, but with a new front end and no pilots, giving it a sci-fi feel.

The new front end — along with the lack of pilots — may strike former passengers or crew alike as strictly sci-fi.

The goal of the U-Hawk is to accompany manned missions in the air as an autonomous aircraft.
