Plan B Producers Discuss Europe Expansion
Plan B producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, who head the US-based production company with Brad Pitt, discussed their new London-based European subsidiary at the BFI London Film Festival.
"It felt like the right moment," Jeremy Kleiner said of opening the London office. "We're doing a lot of stuff here already," he added, citing the UK premiere of Philippa Lowthorpe's H Is For Hawk on October 12, which Plan B produced alongside Film4.
"Ed is really brilliant at television, I think it's going to help us expand even more here, and also leaning towards Europe too,"
Kleiner said, referring to Ed McDonald, the former Clerkenwell Films executive producer who will head up Plan B Europe. Gardner added that hiring McDonald was like "finding long lost family" and emphasized Plan B's global approach.
