The Wisconsin State Assembly has passed a bill delaying the enforcement of new commercial building codes to April 2026, giving developers more time to comply.
The bill, Assembly Bill 450, was passed to provide more time for developers to adapt to the new codes, which were adopted by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services this year.
The bill “provides much-needed clarity,” and will implement the new building code on April 1, 2026, said Rep.
