Historically, early cranberry farmers in the state were concerned with protecting plants from frost. However, warmer summers now pose a new challenge: heat.

The cranberry harvest is currently underway in Wisconsin, with growers expecting an average yield of about 500 million pounds of berries.

We are looking forward to having our 26th consecutive year of Wisconsin being the leading producer of cranberries in the world.

Allison Jonjak, cranberry outreach specialist for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, expressed optimism about this year's cranberry crop. Nevertheless, the agriculture industry, including cranberries, faces economic hurdles due to tariffs.
