A New Era Begins: Former Utah Supreme Court Justice Dallin H. Oaks named President of LDS Church
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the reorganization of a new First Presidency, with Dallin H. Oaks as the 18th president.
"I accept with humility the responsibility that God has placed upon me and commit my whole heart and soul to the service to which I've been called,"
said President Oaks. He succeeds President Russell M., who passed away over two weeks prior.
President Oaks expressed commitment to fulfilling the challenges given by his predecessor, stating "We have much work to do".
